A statement containing both a subject and an opinion.
Example: San Diego is the most beautiful city in the world.
o “the most beautiful” is opinion because someone could argue it; therefore, this is a thesis statement
Anti-example: San Diego is a city in southern California .
o This is all fact. There’s nothing to argue; therefore, it is not a thesis statement. It is a CD. |

Begins with a BT, followed by 2 or 3 chunks, and ends witha CS.

There should be 2 or 3 of these in each ¶.
|
Conclusion sentence |
